So, what was the ending about.

Hell, that epsiode of Blackadder where he goes back in time was deeper than Donnie Darko. At least it didn't attempt to be deeper than it really is by having a seemingly stupid, badly written ending.

Yeah.

Both Bill and Ted's are better than Donnie Darko.

It wasn't deep or anything. They were the repurcussions of the events that occured in that one timeline. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't get why people still go on about this film. If you want good lessons in cause and effect and paradoxial stuff, watch Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey - the bit with the evil bloke at the end is hilarious, and far more educational in the realms of time-travel than Donnie Darko ever was!

You just need to watch it a couple of times and have a good think about it. Or watch the director's commentary which explains it all.

Hmm. I'm not sure about this film. It was entertaining and I enjoyed watching it. But I thought the film overall was a bit vague, and by leaving everyone confused at the end, made people think it was a deep film, and that people who understood it were genuis'. But I still thought it was good.

So he pretty much travels back in time to save his girlfriend then.

it doesnt count as time travel when it is a different world,he just makes sure that the tangent universe is destroyed,and returns to the real world.

ignor my question, i have the DVD, just aint watched the directors comentry, yet.

right here we go
from the moment just before the engine crashed through his roof the first time,a seperate world was created,frank woke donnie up so he would manipulate the engine back into its own world.from that point on everyone manipulates donnie so that he has to close the other world.
granma death was standing in the middle of the road so frank would hit gretchen and would have to go back so she would live.
the teacher went to court instead of taking her children to the tv show,so donnies mum had to go on the plane instead.
if donnie had got out of bed at the end the whole would thing have started again,and that would lead to the destructioon of the universe.
it goes back to the start when the alternative universe is destroyed.
get the dvd with the directors commentary it will no doubt explain things better than me.
