Boro win 2-1 against the Arsenal
Sorry Boro but I think it's Bolton's year.
Its the defence thats the problem.
However, Beckham was on the bench most of last season and Ole was more than effective on the right wing. Once all our players are fit and back from suspensions - we are still a pretty formidable team.

Yes that year but Utd also had cover, decent cover. In Stam's case its caught up with them over time, especially in the Champions League, this season though the Beckham impact is much bigger than people imagined. I can see the last game of the season now and I know for sure that they WILL regret getting rid of such in irreplaceable player.

Yes, yet we still won the title. Fergies has made mistakes I agree with that.

Maybe he isn't but it's still not a reason to hate Man Utd is it?

So basically you hate Man U because of Fergie and Wes Brown.
> Fergie maybe obnoxious yet he is still the most succesful.
Your point being? It was because of him why they lost Stam and Beckham, both the former and the latter will be laughing now the are seriously lacking at the back and that there simply isn't anyone to replace Beckham in the united midfield.

Getting back? Don't make me laugh. Wes Brown simply isn't good enough, we are talking about a team going for the league and the champions league and putside of Silvestre they can only offer Wes Brown and a make shift central defender. His casual/relaxed attitude has cost united badly in the past, foreign defences will have a field day with him unles he is seriously on top of his game.

No I am a magpie, no interest in Arsenal what so ever aside from the fact that I hope they take the league because I can't stand united. As for counting chickens, I think I can safely collect them all up now.
still are conceding like theirs no tommorows.
*theres no tommorow.
O'shea, Keane (possibly), Neville (eek), Brown, Silvestre, Fortune (Cringes).
When compared to some other "solid" defenders in the premiership then you would think its good enough. Not the case.
Losing the likes of Adams, Dixon and Winterburn (not to mention, Seaman) after all those years was always gonna hit you hard. You could sign whoever you like to play in attack - as many Thierry Henry's as can fit on one team-sheet, even! - but, without a solid backline that both knows and works well with each-other, you're always going to suffer set-backs, at some stage.
It took only Ruud van Nistelrooy (at the end of last season) to hit your Title Run when he single-handedly took full-advantage of Martin Keown's mistake, and there appeared to be nobody else around to help him.
Now, though, the likes of Toure and Lauren (after some adaptability) and settled in at the back very well, and alongside Sol Campbell, your team is looking almost "unbreakable", once again.
Wenger has been quite heavily critisised for not buying here-and-there; for bringing in a new Adams or younger Keown - yet, look at how a little patience with players has given a great effect, over time.
Perhaps there's a lesson for Sir Alex to learn here, if we are to get over this defensive crisis of our own...?
Its like even with their kiddies, they smashed Wolves in the Carling cup.
And how many times are their good players injured/suspended, yet they still win. United lose Rio, one player and the titles gone :S.
Players like Edu look really confident compared to last season.
