They are, I got them on DVD-R a while back and was truely shocked that anyone could find them in the slightest bit entertaining.
The first 2 episodes are basically fake snuff films, how they did some of the effects I have no idea. The first one is of 3 guys torturing a girl, truely nasty and certainly not something I'd recommend to anyone. The second episode is just some psycho in a Samurai outfit cutting some girl up and keeping her alive as he removes body parts, real nasty and stupidly graphic stuff. The effects are good but it's certainly not entertainment.
Glad to say there's no way in hell they'll ever get a release over here.

My girlfriend and her friend went to see 'Irreversible' (they couldn't go to see "Maid in Manhatten" at the local multiplex as the times were bad, which is what they originally wanted to see) at the local "arty" cinema.
Two girls in an audience of 30 - 40 single men.
Apparantly, her friend cried throughtout the whole movie, and when I picked them up from town, she was still totally shellshocked.

I've seen that twice now, it's all pretty sick, but the worst bit is the end where that terrorist is shot at close range in the face. His jaw shatters, and he is struggling to breathe while choking on his own teeth and flesh. It's horrible and made me feel genuinely sick. He did kill people though, so in a way he had it coming.

"How?"
"well, take the guy getting attacked by the crocodile for example"
"ok"
"Its a shakey handheld camera at least about 20 meters away from the guy"
"ok"
"well, why, when the guy falls in, does it cut to a closeup of a crocodile thrashing around with something else?"
"oh, I didn't notice that"
The monkey brains sequence is obviously a puppet, and in fact, the only thing real in the entire movie are the slaughterhouse sequences.
Which are awful.
The only thing involving real people dying I have had the misfortune to see was the now banned "Executions" video.
Particuarly enjoy the Italian Horror (Fulci, Argento, Deodato etc etc) and a lot of the Asian exploitation films.
For some truely sick treats I recommend Guinea Pig, Naked Blood, Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox, Beyond the Darkness, House on the Edge of the park, Anthropothagous the beast 2000 and hell of a lot of other stuff.
The documentary on the DVD seems like it would add a bit of interest though, but it's cheap exploitation all the same.
