As soon as i boot the computer the screen is jumbled up and littered with patches of colour. Oh well, thats what a 3 year guarantee is for.

Hm, well just try a different card and see if it works, or use the mobo's intergrated graphics to definately rule out moniter problems, or use the moniter on something else etc.

But yeah, use and abuse the 3 year ;o)

Nah, i can totally rule out a CPU fault, the chip is renowned for easily doing 200*11, and i tested it, its totally prime 95 stable.

My card did this once, and I would try 3 things:

1

If your motherboard has an inbuild graphics card take out you Radeon and use that for 1 boot, then reinstert the card and it will be as if you had never installed it (low res, low colours etc). Then reinstall the drivers.

2

Do the same as above but use an old card rather than an inbuilt one.

3

Clear you CMOS (BOIS). I once overclocked my CPU to 3.12 GHz and the ment the system held on start up with a funny screen. You may say that you haven't changed any CPU speeds for ages, but your CPU may have had a bit of a wobbly. Clearing the BOIS rectifys this.

Do those in the order they are in, and I hope that helps.

This happened with my 9800 XT without proper cooling when I overclocked my CPU and enable OverDrive. A couple of simple fans and a new case did the trick.
