As soon as i boot the computer the screen is jumbled up and littered with patches of colour. Oh well, thats what a 3 year guarantee is for.

are you sure it is not the monitor??

monitors are more likely to break then graphics cards

is it even when it is in the bios or when your desktop comes up what os do you have it might help me explain

I've heard of this problem before Cookie, some people was going on about it on some forums, can't remember what though.

It concerned a 9800 anyway, with juddered images on bootup.

i had this problem once

it was on incorrect display settings and it took alot of geuss work to get in the control panel

are you sure its not that

Its your graphics card.

Caused by:

1) Running with no cooling
2) Installing Faulty Drivers
3) Installing Drivers partially
4) Installing the Wrong Drivers for your card
5) Urinating on your card while it is running.

I believe he already knows that.

Its nothing to do with the drivers, its a fault with the card.

This happened with my 9800 XT without proper cooling when I overclocked my CPU and enable OverDrive. A couple of simple fans and a new case did the trick.
