It has finally happened. Today I applied for work experience at both a Hospital Radio Station and the Scotsman newspaper. After sending them both a copy of my CV and pleading my case I got a reply e-mail stating that I would have an informal interview in February:D Ok it's not much but I really want to be a part of the media industry so this informal interview has really got me in a good mood.

Before I sent my CV though I put some quick changes to it just so it's perfected. I am going to post some of it here though as I remember someone else getting advice on their CV here and wouldn't mind some help myself. Thanks in advance :D

PROFILE
I am a young male who has achieved a variety of Standard Grade and Intermediate 1 qualifications and have learned a variety of other skills working hands on in different work placements. I have an outgoing and highly motivated personality and seek to start a part time career with a company where hard work and results will be recognised.

KEY SKILLS
¨ Good communicator
¨ Innovative thinker
¨ Courteous in manner
¨ Reliable individual
¨ Interview skills
¨ And I have a good vocabulary

Past Work Related Duties:

I have had experience working in a team of around 5 to 10 people doing assignments with my High School and out with it. I have previously worked on the writing, editing and production of both short films and magazines promoting my school. This required me to place a lot of trust in the abilities of others and for me to be a trustworthy individual. Consequently this kind of work has also improved my communication skills as I have often been made team leader in these projects. Taking part in debating competitions representing my school has also helped to boost both my confidence and communication skills. I have also been responsible for the well being of many visitors to my school, which required me to be very articulate and courteous to members of the general public.

Any advice? Please try to keep your comments nice though. I can deal with constructive criticism but I would prefer it if you don't come in and say

"Courteous in manner? I'm sure Blank would disagree!!111!" Because I am a pleasant person in general. In fact I did a work profile and they suggested I persue a career in PR and my English teacher never stops saying how polite I am. (She wishes I wasn't because I'm too nice to the opposition in debating tournaments heh) I'm different on the net though. Don't know why just am :)

Judging from a lot of the posts I've seen you make here I'd give you an expected D for English. That's just me though.

And what was the point of this other than to try and boast?
"oh look how I did in my Standard Grades! LOOK AT ME!!! LOOK AT MEEEEEE!!!"
