I had the misfortune to see “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here” yesterday (Hey, I’m ill with cold, sue me)

Is it me or does anyone else think these trials are incredibly cruel?

Much as I dislike Peter Andre, him sticking his head into a box of cockroaches is certainly going to kill some, as are the times when various different insects / eels are put into the same box around a z list celebrities, eager to jump start their careers, head.

What’s the one that Jenny Bond has to do? Enter a coffin-sized box that’s filling up with water that she is will be sharing with RATS. Regardless of the fact that the rats may be hurt if she moves around, the poor things are guaranteed to be terrified.

I own rats, and they are the most docile (NEVER bitten me), sociably, friendly and intelligent small animals I have owned. I personally hate big spiders, but still find it disgusting that they are used in this way, to provide lowbrow entertainment to the masses.

These faded celebrities have the choice of putting themselves through embarrassing situations. The animals abused (yes ABUSED) on this program do not.

I find this programme absolutely disgusting.

Pandemonium - you should change your tag line to "groomed by rats"

I did, but no longer now. I also crapped my pants. I've grown out of that too.

True, and I have been known to on occasions. Usually after a drink. Oh, they *do* drink too, and are deamons for the booze. We can't leave wine glasses around, otherwise they knock them over and start drinking.

I'm sorry, but I find the fact of anything being killed, or being put through discomfort just to provide entertainment, wrong.

Its my opinion, it won't be changed, regardless of the type of animal / insect involved.

OK then. Though squeaking is a form of communication, so if you made your own squeak you'll be talking to it.

No, by sociable, I mean they crave your attention, and will regularly groom you. Friendly, they love to see their food monkey, and will jump on the side of the cage, and squeak greetings to you, after which they will run up you arm. Intelligent, they little sods act like small dogs, and will come over to you when their name is called.

No speech involved. Sociable behaviour covers more than speech alone. ;)

That could only mean one thing; they talk!

Either that, or you regularly have a drink with them while watching the footy.
