I know it's a bit late but I wrote one for Ciao and thought I'd also post it on here as a GAD attempt only to find they don't sell that particular DVD. Hmph. Ack well I still thought I'd post it here for you guys to view. Enjoy:

Pirates Of The Carribean
------------------------

Don't you just love it when you're walking through you're local HMV and find a gem of a DVD in their half price sale? You know what I mean, a film like Gattaca or Top Gun. Well Pirates Of The Caribbean may not be as innovative as Gattaca or emotional as Top Gun but this is definitely a modern day masterpiece that you definitely wont regret paying full price for.

By the director of the popular horror film, The Ring, Gore Verbinski has delivered a spectacular film with a cast that some directors can only dream of. The up and coming A-List elf Orlando Bloom delivers a surprisingly good performance as the dashing young Will Turner, the dazzling Keira Knightley who plays the perfect love interest and Cap'n Jack Sparrow himself, Johnny Depp.

Mr. Depp delivers a stunning performance after a fair few years out off the movie making game in his come back film, and what a come back it is. His fabulously camp performance as the comical yet skilled pirate of the seven seas is one that simply does not disappoint. His cheeky little comments provide well-needed light relief in this otherwise generic pirate movie.

"Welcome to the Caribbean love!" Says the apathetic scally wag in an attempt to get Keira to loosen up and drink some Rum. Just like a real pirate. It's grade A material I'll tell you that.

Now, I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good film without him only that without Cap'n Jack this film would have far too much doom and gloom for your average viewer, which, in itself can be comical.

The plot itself is a solid one typical of the genre and as you would have guessed from the 12 certificate it's a bit darker than usual for a Disney film. The CG for example allows us to see the skeleton remains of a crew of the damned. Probably not a good idea to play the lenient parent with this one and show it to your kids. I'm 16 and still jumped out of my seat the first time I saw one of them!

However this is not about me looking like a jumping fool in the cinema. This is a list of my opinions; you may not like them; you may not agree with them but don't argue! "Do you think it wise to cross blades with a pirate” I don’t! So go and buy a copy from the shops or plunder your mates house and take his for a stunning adventure on the high seas.

It's not that hard to do it's just I don't want to be changed. I am me. As the quote goes "I don't have a problem, it's your problem". If I don't have a problem with it why do you? Can't you just see past it.

Apart from anything else I just use them sometimes on a spur of the moment thing to express emotions it's not a continual thing. It's not that big a deal is it?

Then think of another way. You don't have to rebutt everything that comes at you.

I'm making suggestions to you, nothing more here.

And these suggestions are on the basis of:

"Finally I except that there must be some truth in it but no one has told me what idiotic things I say or do. How can I be expected to progress if I can not see the flaw?"

Now, I'll start this civil conversation as you've been asking for, with this. When I said about your emoticons, you said is was so small a change that it wasn't worth bothering about.

I have an objective view of this. I know what it feels like to read a Cubist post, and the impressions given off by it. And it makes you sound immature. This is backed up by Mystique's post and others.

Why not, and I try to make it clear once again that I'm not being insulting, harsh etc here, but why not just try implement these changes? See what happens? I can guarantee you'd lost that image on my half. And if it's so small a change, it shouldn't be that hard to do, right?

Me, I told Blank that I wished Cancer upon him. That was a fairly stupid question. If you have a point to make come out and say it straight Tinka.

Well how should I reply to your previous posts Blank? I can't think of any way in which to answer them that doesn't involve me voicing one of my opinions, asking you a question and then you'll voice your opinion and ask question and it'll go back and forth for ages with neither of us changing our opinions.

Christ on a crutch! Calm down, will you? What's with people jumping off the handle these days?

Some bloke was on his mobile in a designated "quiet" coach on my train carriage and before he knew what was going on, about 5-6 people were shouting at him to get off his mobile or leave the carriage. Not that they weren't making about 5 times more noise than him with their infantile wailing...

And you don't get this! By "civil conversation" I don't mean me telling you that you're an idiot. That isn't a civil conversation.

But neither do I mean just any old conversation about anything, because that doesn't get either of us anywhere.

You can run away all you like Cubist, but you've no reason to. You're only further cementing your situation and the attitudes of those around you toward you. There are two options; lose-lose and win-win. It's simple.

Sure, we may not get anywhere, but we're sure as hell not getting anywhere doing this.

You've complained earlier in this thread that if you don't know what you're doing that gives people this impression of you then you can't know what to change - a very valid point indeed. But who is the person that you would immediately think of for getting this impression from you? Me. And who is here and willing to talk, without arguing, about these things? Me.

I don't want to say "you're an idiot" or "you're stubborn" or "you're pretentious" here.

Honestly.

No those posts are not what I want to talk about Blank you don't get that! I do not want to be told in a variety of different ways exactly how I am stubborn, pretentious, an idiot and just plainly wrong about everything. I am entitle to my opinion and I don't want to engage in lengthy conversations with you constantly saying how stupid I am for thinking that.
