Yes, unfortunately I have the above CPU in my system along with my DDR400 Ram and 9800Pro Overclocked to XT Speeds...

Basically, i am going to upgrade the CPU to a 2500+ Barton, but before i take it out, i really wanna mess with the overclocking side of it.

The most I ever got stable was to the speed of a 2100+, pretty pathetic, at about 1750mhz from 1675 mhz.

Anyway, I was reading all about multipliers, so i dug out my mobo manual and have found the jumper block to overide the multiplier setting (GA-7VAXP).

Can someone tell me if I will be able to get a lot more than 75mhz out of it in anyway?

Forget it, my XP2000 idles at 56 degrees despite sitting in a wind-tunnel.

My XP2000 only got as far as 1875mhz I'm afraid.

Palamino's just don't overclock well at all. That probably is close to the most you would get from it. cookie monster mentioned the heat, they do run hot. Over 50 degrees I would expect. Oh and there is no thermal protection, meaning that the chip literally explodes if your heatsink falls off or something.

I think Pallamino chips are the ones that are shockingly hot, I wouldnt even touch it.
