Yes, unfortunately I have the above CPU in my system along with my DDR400 Ram and 9800Pro Overclocked to XT Speeds...

Basically, i am going to upgrade the CPU to a 2500+ Barton, but before i take it out, i really wanna mess with the overclocking side of it.

The most I ever got stable was to the speed of a 2100+, pretty pathetic, at about 1750mhz from 1675 mhz.

Anyway, I was reading all about multipliers, so i dug out my mobo manual and have found the jumper block to overide the multiplier setting (GA-7VAXP).

Can someone tell me if I will be able to get a lot more than 75mhz out of it in anyway?

Sorry, i just checked, left my PC on for 3 hours, came back and its 37oC according to all programs mentioned.

The Barton one still stands.

Coolermaster Some Funny Letters and Numbers upto 3200+ with Coolermaster Premium Compound.

Have a barton running on a Gigabyte 7N400LE with same H&F at 27oC Idle.

What sort of cooling are you using? Because a Palamino will only run that cool with water or liquid nitrogen or something. If you just use a heatsink and fan then you've damaged your thermal diode. There is no fan that I can think of that will run a Palamino that cool.

Bios health-check USED to report at 60oC, now reports at 27 - 33.

also, Easytune4 reports this, and so does SiSoft Sandra. So my figures are right.

Knowing this CPU as well as I do, I would urge you to revisit your figures - at a guess, you're looking at the northbridge and not the CPU temperature. I know this because I've tried everything short of liquid nitrogen and my CPU has never idled below 40 degrees.

ok, i have a wee problem. This is taken from somewhere else I posted this issue:

"hmm, im getting worried now. My FSB is set to 133mhz while playing AA, so it dont crash, but EasyTune4 is reporting it as 136mhz, meaning a 25mhz Increase. It runs everything fine, but crashes AA...

Why the hell is it running the FSB faster... its never done this b4!"

Before other parts of my computer started complaining I ran my XP1700 at 2200mhz (XP2600-2700 ish). I managed 42c at full load with my own aircooling methods.

Thnx to a 3200+ Coolermaster H&F and 5 Coolermaster Sensitive Fans... and a BLOW HOLE! I love silent fans ;).

Guess i'll just sell it on ebay and fix in my barton then ;).
