Basically, i am going to upgrade the CPU to a 2500+ Barton, but before i take it out, i really wanna mess with the overclocking side of it.
The most I ever got stable was to the speed of a 2100+, pretty pathetic, at about 1750mhz from 1675 mhz.
Anyway, I was reading all about multipliers, so i dug out my mobo manual and have found the jumper block to overide the multiplier setting (GA-7VAXP).
Can someone tell me if I will be able to get a lot more than 75mhz out of it in anyway?
The Barton one still stands.
Have a barton running on a Gigabyte 7N400LE with same H&F at 27oC Idle.
also, Easytune4 reports this, and so does SiSoft Sandra. So my figures are right.
> used to run at 60oC, now runs at 27oC Idle, 33oC load.
Knowing this CPU as well as I do, I would urge you to revisit your figures - at a guess, you're looking at the northbridge and not the CPU temperature. I know this because I've tried everything short of liquid nitrogen and my CPU has never idled below 40 degrees.
"hmm, im getting worried now. My FSB is set to 133mhz while playing AA, so it dont crash, but EasyTune4 is reporting it as 136mhz, meaning a 25mhz Increase. It runs everything fine, but crashes AA...
Why the hell is it running the FSB faster... its never done this b4!"
We love 120mm fans.
Thnx to a 3200+ Coolermaster H&F and 5 Coolermaster Sensitive Fans... and a BLOW HOLE! I love silent fans ;).
Guess i'll just sell it on ebay and fix in my barton then ;).
