Have to write a CV so I can do a jobshadow thing sometime soon.

What can I put on my CV besides my personal details (name etc) and exam results?

Currently taking AS Level courses in English Language, History and Computing and an AVCE course in media, at Horsforth School Sixth Form; as of September 2003.

Eleven GCSEs attained at Horsforth High School:

The past 9 years since I left school have been 100% debauchery. I intend to keep it up on a smaller scale, but need to get myself financially sorted as living with my parents and sponging off all and sundry is just getting beyond a joke!

Here is an excerpt from mine. I had it done professionally by my aunt. Well it was her job! And it got me several offers as well.

Use headings, don't mention pointless things like a fan of rock concerts, bullet points for things like above, (they don't copy well), newest stuff first on the education bits.

Use powerwords.

Mention interests, things that you've done that count as skills and can be used, qualifications... anything applicable. Bear in mind that it was computer science that I did at uni, hence the theme I had. Different things for different fields obviously.

Don't underestimate them, although I suppose it depends what you are applying for. A good use of language is not essential if you're filling shelves at tescos. I've not yet had to impress any employer, as I've only had mundane jobs. I blame this on the fact that I'm still at Uni, but that excuse will soon be invalid, as I finish in June.
