Right, i'm gettin rid of my MP3 player, the piece of rubbish that it is, and would like to invest in a Minidisc player. Is it possible for me to get one that i can put music on (ie my MP3's) and is a decent make for <£100 pounds. Any recommendations are welcome. Thanks

MiniDiscs use their own file format. As such you can't just stick MP3s on them. Also, as they use discs of any type they have moving parts, which reduces battery life.

Hard drive MP3 players have the most storage space obviously, but battery life is still an issue. A solid state, i.e. compact flash or multimedia memory card type MP3 player gives better battery life.

Mine does about 15 hours on one AAA battery.

iPod's a little out of my range, but as i have found the lesser brands skimp on other things. Like the last one i bought the batteries lasted an hour so i'm sending it back. But i can get a decent Minidisc player for like £100
