Sorry to hit you with more problems!

For a little while now I'm finding my sites on webserver 8 are running poorly.

I've just been monitoring things for a while but after the WS7 problems I'm having to check all my sites and can see one's on WS8 are running particularly poorly.

Could this be investigated please?

If you need some example sites let me know and I'll raise a Support Ticket.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm... of course VIP Hosting is shared, however there are more VIP servers and actually a lot less people on them. Performance is going to be a lot better on them. Also we have more flexibility on these servers for taking your own requests into consideration for extra PHP modules etc.

However the free hosting account is fine for your average site, although with larger sites VIP Hosting is far superior, also in respects to MySQL, VIP servers have hosting and MySQL on the same machine making them much more faster than free hosting accounts communicating to an external MySQL server on mysql.freeola.net.

VIP Hosting is also very competitive with pricing compared to other similar shared hosting accounts.

Domain pricing is neither here nor there IMO.

Of course. I only meant I can't tell you too much information about what we have actioned regarding another customers site :D

After looking at some of your sites (ok all of em :D) I can't imagine your sites would cause an issue no. Mainly because they don't look like they have been scripted by a monkey ha ha

Hopefully my simple sites would never cause a problem.
But can I assume you also inform the site owner when problems are encountered?

P... Hmmm...T maybe? :D
Ok that was terrible but I enjoyed it

Anyway, as I'm sure you can understand I am reluctant to say what I have done as it is concerning a website that is someone elses (ie. not yours).

I assure you as of now, that website won't be causing the issue. (If indeed that was the cause)

And web2? Would it be acceptable to just raise my hands and go ... meh ???? Joking aside, I think it may just have been a little glitch

I was hoping no one would say that!

I like to think I'm using 'standard' hosting that's part of the package when I register domains with Freeola and use your ADSL.

I'm sure you are aware that for pure domain registration, things can be had for less elsewhere.

I have enough Freeola domains to know what's normal and what's not - so I prefer Warhunt's initial replies where he admitted there was an issue! :¬)

Are you saying your VIP hosting isn't also 'shared' ?

Also I'm happy with Freeola's 'standard' hosting tied in with Freeola ADSL - as are many of my clients. If I was to move to VIP hosting it might also remove the reason for people to continue to use Freeola ADSL! :¬P

So perhaps it's best to look after the 'grass' on both sides of the fence!

TBH servers are going to get slow at times, especially on our free servers. It is somewhat part and parcel of shared hosting. Not to say that we cannot do anything when people are abusing the systems resources, however from time to time server response times may well be slow on our free hosting.

That being said we are always looking to improve our services, but if you want that VIP treatment hmmm..., try the VIP Hosting?

Sorry Warhunt - You've lost me there?

NB. Just had someone tell me WS2 is running slow! Sure enough when I looked it was?! Hope you're not moving problem sites to there. Hopefully that was just a 'hiccup'.

What is your fix when you are finding these 'problem' sites?

Thanks again.

Odd not seeing any response after someone last replied.

A breakthrough on this though (maybe) is we have just discovered a site that seems to be a huge problem. A site on there is using huge amounts of bandwidth.

The site should n olonger be causing issues however after now (well give me 15 mins or so)

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
