Video games, our hobby, which fits into our daily routine no matter what. We play games as often as possible and hey, when people try and stop us from playing them we play even more!

But, who are the people that make our hobby such a great hobby to have? Ok, we may know them as ‘Games Company’s’, e.g. Rare, Team 17, Maxis etc. But why should we only know the name of the company that makes it? Why don’t the people involved in making the game get a better mention rather then just the quick flick through credits at the end of the game? Some of us don’t even reach the end to see this!

Ok, Nintendo, they are known for the man who created and helped in many successful Nintendo games. But how about the rest of the team? When I completed ‘Super Smash Brothers’ you could fast forward the credits and I could only basically make out about half the team with ‘Yoshi’ within their name!

The same goes for Rare, many of us see Rare as the best games company in the world! For such classics as Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong etc. But do any of us really know who put all their time and effort in to give us the pleasure of playing their games in our leisure time?…………………Nope, Not me!

So, really I think credits towards the team behind our games should be greater. Show me who made me not do my coursework, show me who gave me such happiness, show me who created the games which I love to play!

Thanks SonicRav, so it WAS Hideo Kojima...

I'm currently thinking of others, but I'll have to dig out my ZX Spectrum magazines to check the spellings.

Surely u know more!!!!

Here are a few:

Shigeru Miyamoto- FATHER OF GAMES! He started by creating Donkey Kong... and then Mario... and Zelda... and Metriod... and so many other! Shigsy (nick name) is Nintendo!

Yu Suzuki- Not only does this man make great games in loads of genres (Sega Rally, Daytona, F355 all the way to Virtua Fighter... all the way to Shenmue), but he pushes hardware. Not alot of people know this, but Miyamoto was trying to make a 3D fighter just like Virtua Fighter, but couldn't get the hardware to do it. Yu Suzuki could. Same story with Shenmue... pushing hardware to its limits. Now head of Am2 (or whatever they're called with the new name thing)

Yugi Naka (my fav!)- When nintendo ruled the world with a red, fat, slow human called mario, it was this man who brouhg tSega into the mass market once again. He created a blue, slick, fast hedgehog names SONIC!!! He went on to make PSO and even Samba de Amigo. Head of R&D 9, now Sonic Team

Anyway, they're my top 3... others include Hideo Kojima (MGS), the guy who made GT1,2 and 3 (can't remember the name) and soooo many others!

Sonic

Hmmm, I don't really pay much attention to the credits. At the end of they day, the people who make games get fantastic money and a fantastic job.

Anyway, the peoples names all seem the same to me. All these mad old funny names eh :-)
