Did anyone catch this?
I did. Unfortunately. Bad acting, poorly scripted and really obvious running jokes - e.g. "Free drinks!". Coupling can do it brilliantly, not this. The characters go together terribly, and there's nothing that's really 'good' about it. Copious amounts of canned laughter and lame jokes just makes this annoying.
Yet another failed BBC comedy, soon to die and be buried with The Crouches, 3 Non-Blondes, All About Me, tlc and that crappy thing with Pauline Quirk. Can anyone think of any more? Sadly, you most probably can.

My Hero was quite funny in places, but nothing special. About average; but not quite so bad to go on the 'crap' list.
How many My Family episodes have you seen? I'll bet the answer is not a lot. From the outside, it does look like "just another rubbishy BBC comedy", and I had my reservations when I first watched it. But it got to No. 24 in the sitcom awards for a good reason, and that's for it's sharp writing and bright characters.
It's not one of the greats, but as a regular viewer, there's plenty of laughs every episode and it's actually very good. Sarcastic Ben, crazy Nick, Michael, Susan and the rest all make great characters for a decent sitcom.
