Did anyone catch this?

I did. Unfortunately. Bad acting, poorly scripted and really obvious running jokes - e.g. "Free drinks!". Coupling can do it brilliantly, not this. The characters go together terribly, and there's nothing that's really 'good' about it. Copious amounts of canned laughter and lame jokes just makes this annoying.

Yet another failed BBC comedy, soon to die and be buried with The Crouches, 3 Non-Blondes, All About Me, tlc and that crappy thing with Pauline Quirk. Can anyone think of any more? Sadly, you most probably can.

Ah, good.

Hopefully this widespread critical thrashing will ensure it's only given about half a series.

It looked crap from the adverts, after watching for 5 minutes, my hypothesis was proved correct.

Woah woah woah... hold the phone.

There is a lot of BBC comedy in addition to Only Fools and Horses that's great - The Office and I'm Alan Partridge for example. And then you've got the classics such as Fawlty Towers.

I shall repeat; Check-mate.

Nah, I was just tired and really needed to go to sleep - not running away. If you don't like My Family then fine, but I personally find it light hearted and very watchable for its balance of dry/sarcastic wit (which, if done properly, can be a very good form of humour, I'll have you know) and laugh out loud jokes.

I don't even attempt to watch any BBC comedy bar only fools and horses because they all suck. If you have to use canned laughter then it isn't funny...

My Family is ok, but only for one reason. I am just like Ben, only younger.

I describe the characters in simple terms because I cannot be bothered to go into detail at this time of night. In fact, why am I even still up? I have work tomorrow. What am I doing on a forum in the early morning? I'm going to bed now, because I'm bored.

Check-mate.

you are kidding right? my family (which i have to watch because my family like it)is not funny and panders to the lowest common denominator.
sarcasm is the lowest form of comedy, the characters are one dimensional, any programme where you can describe the characters in such simple terms shows it has no depth. and while it is not as bad as "my hero".as for your argument, that it was voted 24th best comedy so it is good is ridiculous.the people who voted are idiots.
