Anyone used Play Asia website for gaming related imports?

What were they like? I swore off buying expensive imports but...this is unmissable and they have it reasonably priced at preorder.

SR have nothing to worry about as said item will never ever make it outside of Japan at retail...

So, comments anyone?

That is poor, so poor I laughed.

I ordered some small things (controller converters) from them, used Paypal and they've dispatched the items the next day. Not bad, unless it doesn't arrive of course.

Hmm, it appears that Yesasia are somewhat dodgy or at least incompetent.

Got an email today saying my order was on hold because they cannot verify the cardholder address and can I send a scan of the front and back of the card... Phone my card issuer who say this is not a good thing to do and that any company with a brain should be able to verify details without them.

Hence I have cancelled my order and am now gunless. Damn.

If you read the whole topic you'd know what I was talking about.

Coming from a person who calls himself princess you'll forgive if I don't see a great irony...

Besides, with prices varying everywhere from $400 to $159.99 it pays to shop around...

Icarus - http://global.yesasia.com/en/Index.aspx

Just search from the main page for final fantasy X-2 or browse around the games section.

Yikes...looks like I'm best staying away from them, though I'm making sure to put it on my credit card because it covers me for lost during shipping and stuff if it is an internet bought item and does not arrive within a month.

Anyway, Icarus - I'll post the url later as I've got to dig it out of my history files (rather stupidly I did not bookmark it) and I looked at so many sites with guns on last night they're all a muddle. Will post it later but they do look reliable - and anyone who pays the VAT for you must by definition be doing a good trade to afford to do so!

My experiance with Play Asia has been extreamly bad:

I ordered Winning Eleven Advance from them in July 2003 and never received anything, when I emailled them they said that they will check with hong kong post to see whats happened, again no response and another month went by, asked again and same response.

They kept saying this until 5/6 months went by and by this time I was extreamly Pised off and asked for a refund and the respose was 'bare with us we are asking hong kong post' I then received a letter from New Zealend post tell me that Play Asia had informed them that I hadn't received my parcel. Im sorry but New Zealend is nowhere near 'on the way' to the UK which also suprised the rep from Play Asia, but they informed them and then said it was somehow my fault?

I was ready to pull my hair out till finally I snapped. Several months later I wrote a huge complaint email to the management and told them how id expose their bad customer service sills to everyone in the UK etc they then replied that I should have been offered a refund ages ago and refunded my money, however because of the US doller being so weak at the moment it means I lose out on the exchange rate by nearly ten pound sterling, so I didn't get anything out of this other than loss of money and stress, the game wasnt exactly cheap either around 40 pound sterling for an import GBA game which never arrived.

My advice to you, stay away from Play Asia.

Final Fantasy x-2 Yuna's Tiny Bee guns controllers.

Found out Play Asia do not charge your card until the item ships but they will not remark the value of the parcel. Hence customs charges on $159.99 will be horrendous. After scouting around found a site which is doing them $199.99 but free shipping AND (the good part) fully paid VAT.

Plus they sell Famitsu magazine for a reasonalbe £9.50 with free shipping.

And loads of other Japanese/Asian stuff. My credit card is going to hate me...
