Every time I play a game the thing just crashes. Here are my system specs:
AMD Athlon 2200+ (1.8ghz)
Radeon 9000Pro 128mb (4xAGP)
30gig HDD
512mb DDR PC2700 (333mhz)
WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL.
Lets just clear a few things up about what I have done already:
-I have uninstalled the Catalyst drivers and reinstalled the 3.9 catalyst drivers.
-I have reinstalled DirectX 9.0b
I have run DxDiag. It works for Direct Draw, but when I try to run Direct 3D Tests, the screen turns off or i get a message asking to send an error report to ATI. BUT, if I cancel the DirectX 7 test, DirectX 8 and 9 Tests work fine.
Just an addition, it plays Call of Duty and Battlefield 1942 perfectly as long as you play them as soon as you turn the PC on and after that all games crash.
Also, it IS NOT HEAT. This PC USED to be on Windows 98se, and it runned perfectly fine. I have run the PC with the case off and i really dont see how upgrading the OS can make it generate any more heat.
I don't know what this means at all or how to fix it, so any help would be gratefully accepted.
Put in your motherboards driver CD and reistall its APG driver and see if that works.
