Bad time for Sega to bow out of the console market, but a great opportunity for software developers to make a fast buck with new games for new consoles, and a great time to see which console manufacturer will get it's foot in the door of the gaming public first.
I can see Bill Gates counting the money now. I can see Nintendo winding up for quite possibly one of the most spectacular advertising campaigns in recent years, and I can see Sony frantically trying to make sure that the PS3 is ready (and working) sooner than even they can have hoped for.
If they all remember that they are only there because we are here, and that gamers pay their wages, then we've got a very sunny few years ahead of us. :-D
