Bad time for Sega to bow out of the console market, but a great opportunity for software developers to make a fast buck with new games for new consoles, and a great time to see which console manufacturer will get it's foot in the door of the gaming public first.
I can see Bill Gates counting the money now. I can see Nintendo winding up for quite possibly one of the most spectacular advertising campaigns in recent years, and I can see Sony frantically trying to make sure that the PS3 is ready (and working) sooner than even they can have hoped for.
If they all remember that they are only there because we are here, and that gamers pay their wages, then we've got a very sunny few years ahead of us. :-D

To be honest, i doubt the mass market (who will decide th outcome of the console "war") will know anything about Microsofts doctored pictures.
Microsofts 'Doctored' pictures will no doubt smoulder their already shady reputation amongst developers and consumers alike. The 'Future of Gaming' is never the same at one time. Some where in the world deals are being signed and games are being developed!
The future looks exciting but I can almost guarantee that all of us will be looking at The Future of Gaming in a different light in months and even weeks to come! The future is bright, it might be Purple, it might be Black, or even Green, we will soon enough find out, but as for now...keep discussing!
The daily life of us gamers! Sad name........i know but we are gamers alike around the world.
