Thats how much it cost me for a packet of McCoy's spiced chilli and a bottle of Lucozade. I give the woman at the till £1.40, expecting 17p change. I was quite delighted when she gave me back £1.65. Thats made my day, that has.

if u gave someone £1.40 and got £1.65 then they paid you 25p to eat the items, how did it cost YOU £1.23?

Thats how much the items were in total. I paid £1.40, expecting back 17p, but I got back £1.65, which was 25p MORE than I gave her. Therefore, I got back my money PLUS 25p.
