So, you are a regular Nintendo fan, supported them throught the days of the SNES and N64, but what would you do, if your parents came home with a Playstation 2?

Personally, I would plug the thing in and have a blast, but that may not be the case for all of you. I suppose it depends what games came with it...If they decided I might like Moto GP and Winter Games, I might just throw up but on the other hand, if they offered me Timesplitters, Dynasty Warriors 2 and DOA2, I might just bring my self to accept it?

The PS2 doesn't seem that bad, Don't worry Nintendo loyalists I am not on the turn, I still love Ninty and I should have a GBA and Gamecube by this time next year! But, to fill that horrible gap, WHAT DO I DO!

Dreamcasts are good but I don't think PSO, Shenmue and Grandia II will cut it, especially not as well as the 'Hot knife through butter' GT3 or suck like!

I like Sega, but I do feel that the PS2 would be more of an investment! No?

The PS2 is almost sure to have a long lifespan just liek its predessor, so it would be a better investment.

Even though most the games on the PS weren't 'all that' many of them were classics in the gaming world. The PS2 is sure to have some of the best games on it over a long period of time.

So don't miss out!

p.s I ain't gonna get one :)

Frankly, I'd probably sell the thing. They're still hard to get in the States, so I'd imagine I could get a good amount for it on ebay. And it's not out of any hatred for the thing, or for Sony; I just don't feel I need another console at the moment, particularly one with so few good games available. I'd just get annoyed looking at it, knowing I already owned SSX.

I found Shenmue a bit boring, but that was because Dan on here hyped it to the hilt and had me all raring to go out and get it. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea.

The other games you listed, yeah, worth selling your soul for, trading in a PS2 for them is definately a good idea.

If i got a PS2 i'd sell it and buy a Dreamcast aswell as have enougth money for a Gamecube or GBA.

Dreamcast rules at the moment DOA2 is ace, so is Resident evil CV, Crazy Taxi, Shenmue, Half life, Quake 3 and i've barley scratched the surface

About 6 months ago, but then the PS2 is made by Sony and PS2 owners have stood witness to my infallibility in predicting the future. Plus I was reading the American BBS on the amount of DC owners who were raving about the PS2 after they switched about 6 months ago, which was when I formulated my unerringly accurate prediction.

However, I have never played on a GC, and so have no way of telling whether or not the PS2 would be better or not. Like Venom said, it's made by Nintendo, so it probably will rock, and I will probably hate it.

FM, A year ago, didn't you know that the PS2 would be better than the DC?

It's the same situation!

How do you know the PS2 isn't better than the GameCube?

If one day I was given a PS2, the N64 would go in the cupboard under the stairs while I played on Sony's console.

It's a pretty good machine even if not as good as the Gamecube. It be quite happy to have one as long as I didn't have to pay £300+ for it!

Did you know that there is a sign in the US which says

"Welcome to Arkansas"

And underneath that it says "Home of President Bill Clinton"

and underneath that it says

"In compliance with Megan's law we have to inform you that the above is a sex offender"

That's 100% true!
