...forget how to work if you go on holiday or something because my Norton Firewall is blocking no ads. This only started today after i got back from holiday and it just isn't working. Strange. Anything you could tell me.

Also i forgot how to type fast and accurately at the same time. This post took about 5 minutes to write out.

Ypu tried uninstalling and reinstalling it? Can work. before you do that tho, run a virus scan, scan dusk, and defrag, as that my fix it. If it doesn't, its always good to have a well maintained system anyway.

Hmm. I'm a little worried now. It shows the icon as being the firewall enabled, but it's actually disabled and won't disabled. Could it be a virus/hacking thing which stopped it or something? My computer seems to be running slower without it...

Ah, I only had acesses from foreign countries (so not my ISP) and they where all users (visual tracking showed that). Having said that they where all trojon type backdoor atempts.

I'd very much doubt 12 people tried to hack you. They were probably just small programs trying to connect to spyware or just scans on your IP.

I used to get minor problems and a major attack every time I went on. It was just my ISP checking the IP.

My firewall (Norton) stopped 12 hackers yeasterday, so I'm pritty glad I've got one. The best thing is reporting the hackers to their ISP's.

If you go online with an unpatched install of Windows XP and without adequate firewall protection, you will get msblast within 5 minutes.

Well I formatted the OS part of my hard drive partitions about a week ago but before i did all that i got the patch for that blaster worm. After reinstalling XP I installed the patch and then restored my connection.

Actually, I received a worm within the first hour of going online with my new computer. Luckily, it was that useful one, I think it was called Nachi, which directs you to the MS website to download the patch.

Hang on - I think I have it! Maybe, just maybe, firewalls are 100%, totally, utterly and completely without use or worth?
