Actually, one last question.

Are DVD-Drives for PC's affected by this?
And if so, is it possible to hack them, as they don't have a remote?
Ta... again.

Aaah. That's the bit that was getting me confused. I didn't know how many regions there were, and what part of the world each region was designated to.

Yeah, guessed that from people asking about if anyone knew how to for a model type.

Perfect sense. Ta.

Ok.

We (The UK) live in Region 2. America is region 1, Asia region 3 etc.

America and Asia sometimes get movies upto six months before the UK.
Eg. Finding Nemo was released on DVD in November, while it only got to cinemas over here in October.

Every DVD player, when made is set to it's specific region. But most or less all DVD players can be unlocked using a remote hack (button sequence on the player's remote). After a player is "hacked" it permanantly becomes region free enabeling you to play DVDs from around the world.

Did that make sense?
Probably not.
