What a load of rubbish! The French have every right to give the cold shoulder to people who come to their country, refuse to speak the language, expect everyone to speak English, and who won't accept that they aren't always right.
If, however, you go along, try speaking some french (and it doesn't even need to be anything hard - just a few phrases), be extremely courteous and ackowledge their culture, then they actually quite like you.
It saddens me to see and American or British tourist go to France, try to get points across in VERY LOUD English and generally act without any sense of compassion.

Three specific examples:
1) America's military involvement overseas.
America has continually messed up countries big time.
*In Iraq they supported Saddam during the Iraq-Iran war and gave him chemical weapons... then they invaded.
*In Afganistan, America gave money, training and weapons to Osama Bin Laden's "freedom fighters" and declared them heroes when the Soviets left. Then they ignored the area, allowing the Taliban to seize power... and then they invaded.
*In Haiti, the military staged a military coup and took away power from a corrupt dictator. The Americans invaded, and gave him power back. Now the people are rioting against the country's leadership.
*In Vietnam, America "helped" a dictatorship South fight a communist north.
2) America will not support International Law when it doesn't suite them.
*The prisonners from Iraq, if kept in America, would have the rights of the geneva convention - such as .... *shock... access to a lawyer and trial! So, they're kept in Cuba which isn't officially under the treaty!
*The Kyoto Protocol, perhaps the only chance we will ever have to overcome global warming, is not going to be signed by America. And since they produce 35% of the global warming gasses, it's almost impossible to pass into law as a result. Profit over the planet hey - good job George!
3) America tries to bribe the rest of the world.
*Okay, so it's the eve of war on Iraq... and American wants to UN security council to agree to the war. No problem - that's what it's for. However, giving countries MASSIVE amounts of aids for their votes is pathetic. They almost gave a huge package to Turket to allow them to use it as a military base... goodbye ethics.
In short: America doesn't learn from the past, and doesn't realise that it isn't always right.

Go to Paris in winter and you'll see. Beautiful.
Oo, the USA stole an invention off the British scientists that was required to keep a jet stable in supersonic flight - without it, the US Bell X-1 would have fallen to pieces.
Or something like that.
But I have nowt against US citizens themselves, except for any racist/wa*ker ones, but that goes for any nation.

> nuclear warfare
Love these examples! LOL! :D
