Beagle 2 has got lost on it's mission to Mars when the American one has succesfully got to the Plannet. What do you think went wrong and do you think the people who are running this expedition will get Beagle 2 back?

Oi! It was all set-up by people from Bristol University - no fecking sheep-humpers had anything to do with it (as far as I'm aware...).

And, being a Bristolian, I, therefore, resent that! :P

Now, I don't have any idea how you can "lose" a spacecraft with all the satelites and crap floating-around in-space; but, even if "we" have messed-up this time, at least WE were the ones who put a ripe, juicy, red tomato onto the back of Tony Blair, a few years ago!! :P :D

What have you "Geordie Biscuits" done, eh?!?!

You have to feel sorry for the bloke who started it all. I watched a programme about Beagle 2 being built against the clock and I saw that he was having a hell of a lot of money problems - hardly anyone was supporting him (don't quote me on this, but I don't think he even had that much support from the Government either), and he was up against a very tight schedule.

.......and to think it's probably just landed on block of skankey council flats (complete with old sofa and tyres dotted around the entrance),and someone is about to sell it at 'Cash Converters' for a fiver, so he can buy that 'tramp special brew' cider.

The mission ends in a sad story.

The thing has landed in a crater that we didnt even know existed, our telelscopes werent powerful enough to notice a nice crater in the landing area. Ironically we needed the help of a more powerful american telescope to realise the fate of our pipe dream.

Oh, er, no. I'm so embarassed. Yes.

Whenever this happens, I like to think;

'Who had the biggest empire ever?'

Crude, I know, but effective.

If people like the Beckhams with all their millions, put some money towards this, we could make another attempt, but no, people like Blur that have f**k all compared to the Beckhams seem to be the only ones who actually care about the universe.

Do you seriously expect us to answer that?
How the hell should we know?

Good riddance, now the NASA space buggy craft is the popular one.

Or the little green men...

It was more like £35 million.

Actually the concept of sticking a mini space craft inside a massive bean bag (actually there air bags that inflate) is a good idea, and this is a standard procedure for remote landings on planets. Its supposed to bounce when it hits the ground, and each time it bounces the distance gets further but the height it bounces to decreases. I think that a simple error of landing the in the wrong direction probably caused it to land in a crater. Could have burned up though somehow, or NASA sabotaged it!
