"Some of the best British engineers and scientists... and the thing was probably built in Wales or something. DOOMED, right from the start. Bloomin' sheep."

Oi! It was all set-up by people from Bristol University - no fecking sheep-humpers had anything to do with it (as far as I'm aware...).
And, being a Bristolian, I, therefore, resent that! :P
Now, I don't have any idea how you can "lose" a spacecraft with all the satelites and crap floating-around in-space; but, even if "we" have messed-up this time, at least WE were the ones who put a ripe, juicy, red tomato onto the back of Tony Blair, a few years ago!! :P :D
What have you "Geordie Biscuits" done, eh?!?!
;)
.......and to think it's probably just landed on block of skankey council flats (complete with old sofa and tyres dotted around the entrance),and someone is about to sell it at 'Cash Converters' for a fiver, so he can buy that 'tramp special brew' cider.
The thing has landed in a crater that we didnt even know existed, our telelscopes werent powerful enough to notice a nice crater in the landing area. Ironically we needed the help of a more powerful american telescope to realise the fate of our pipe dream.
Whenever this happens, I like to think;
'Who had the biggest empire ever?'
Crude, I know, but effective.
> What do you think went wrong
Do you seriously expect us to answer that?
How the hell should we know?

What Ssorat said.
It was more like £35 million.
> How expensive was it exactly?!
£20 million. I think.
