Q: What is better, Cartridges or CD's?
A: Well Cartridges load faster and don't use memory cards, and CD's hold more data, plus CD's are shiny and cool.
Shiny and cool?
Dumbest reason ever?
the "viewer mail" is faked.
the presenters are awful.
the guru is useless (at least gamesmaster used to show you actual ways to progress in the game.. actually SHOW you, the guru only ever gives out codes or "button sequences to enter at the title screen").
in trying to make it trendy and "street" they've succeeded in setting the cause of video games back. some "viewer" mail from an episode i caught part of the other day (sky one sneakily put it on after the wrestling, which i usually have on in the background while i work.. tis hilarious!! anyways, moving on :) ... ) read along the lines of "i'm into games but 'my mate' (there's the first lie ;) ) says it's for geeks and nerds, what do you think?".
to which the obvious intellect of the presenters kicked into overdrive and pulled out this gem of wisdom: "of course it's not, just look at me and Daz, we're not geeks. of course there ARE geeks and nerds into it, but not on this show". WOW. the whole reply conjures imagery of the social outcasts from Saved By The Bell, but fear not!, for you won't see them on Gamezville, becasue they're COOL guys!
It's idiot tv, dumbed down to a point where it's utterly throwaway. the reviews consist of mentioning how good/bad the "graffix" are, then rating the game based on that.
as i mentioned in the "Classic Games..." forum, i have actually mailed: [email protected]
and asked them not to make another series. i also mailed:
[email protected]
and asked if he knew how such a pitiful show got commissioned in the first place. i urge you all to do the same, or we'll continue to get the video games-based tv version of Smash Hits for all eternity :-\
"Well, the graphics are pretty crap, and the plot is rubbish. The gameplay isn't smooth at all, it's just pathetic. I think it should get 1 G."
"Yeh well, I fink dat diz game is awrite, what do you fink Daz?"
"Yeah man, we give it 4 G's!"
Morons.
> I hate it how Jamie and Darren clearly know nothing about games, but
> think they do by reading cue cards.
"today we're playing *whatever* 2"
-"well daz i'm a big fan of *whatever* 1 and the sequal looks to be even BETTer"
did you see the christmas special? (which i have to say wasn't THAT bad, certainly a lot better than the regular shows. but in the christmas special it wasn't just based around the 2 main presenters, the other cast got more of a role and it was all the better for it, that Matt "from the g-team" guy seems to know his stuff fairly well, plus he's not an irritating plank)
at the end of the christmas special there was an out-takes section... and a fair few of them were as follows:
"this game is absolutely wonderful, it looks great, it sounds great, it plays brilliant and you need to own it. it's... it's.... what game is it?"
enough said.
I used to have Sky and there was a games channel on there, what was it called, i cant remember?
P. O. R. N
It's not in the filter so you don't have to change it.
And before you say it, it's not bloody quicker or easier to read, or write because O and 0 are RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER ON THE KEYBOARD!!!!!!!

well, for one the 'random' clips of games are rather useful. however, the channels going down the pan, in the way that they are almost entirely foreign now.
