They were picked up by a man who identified himself as peter and offered to take the girls home. They drove home quietly approaching the housing estate where my mum and her friend lived, but he carried on driving despite their yells to stop. Eventually one of them grabbed him and yelled at him to stop, and as the car slowed them both jumped out and ran home.
A year later Peter Sutcliffe, Aka the Yorkshire Ripper, began killing young women around Yorkshire who he picked up in his car.

It worries me to this day that my mum could have been the first victim of the Yorkshire Ripper, but I am thankful that she wasn't. This is a true story.

My Mum was born in Leeds but moved round the Country when she married my Dad (was in the RAF). We moved back to Leeds around 13 years ago.
