As you’ve probably guessed I’m becoming a bit disillusioned with mobile phones. They’re a pain in the rear end. I remember the day when I could sit in a restaurant enjoying my lunch in relative peace and quiet, now I sit eating my lunch with someone in the background yacking to their friend on their mobile, shouting as loud as they can phrases such as “Noooo” and “She never!”. She obviously bloody did love or your friend wouldn’t be telling you it!
It’s the same story on the bus home. I used to like having a quick nap on the bus home, but that too is a thing of the past, as I invariably get the loud mobile owner sitting beside or behind me. A couple of weeks ago I sat for an hour and a half on a bus home late in the evening listening to the guy behind me ring at least 5 or 6 different friends complaining about the Man Utd. match the night before to each one, telling the same story to each one about his night out, with the odd little extra bit of story thrown into each new version, and then when he finally did stop using his phone for chatting, he proceeded to play a game on it with the sound at full volume!
A quiet life seems to be a distant memory these days, and all thanks to the wonders of technology and our lovely mobile phones.
I think its sad that people are obsessed with sending txt messages to each other - especially when its normally cheaper to speak to each other.
And then all people seem to do is tell each other who they're sitting next to on the bus, what they can see in someone's window, and whatever other commentary they feel like spouting about their current situations.
They're handy for making arrangements, or if you need to call someone for a lift, and stuff - but the use I generally see people make out of them really is sad.
Him: Hello mate
Me: er.....hi
Him: Hows things?
etc. well I was freaked out by the whole thing and starte walking away. Looked back and saw the earpiece. Tch I'm an ejit.
But yeh I agree with you kinda. But then if you look aat all the good they have done for us. I would list, but last nights lack of sleep is kicking in.
