Anyone seen those self scan checkouts?

Don't know what the hell a camrea is...

The ones I seen in the states had a scale in which the bags where placed on, when you scanned something you put it in the bag. If you didn't scan it and put it in the bag or put something heavy in with something else then it raised an alarm and an assistant appeared. Where also people just keeping watch around to make sure folk where doing it ok.

That's what I thought. You could just say you scanned it. But in America they have camreas watching each checkout.

Surely you can shop lift stuff?

yeah u can pay by coins...10 Sainsburys Stores have them and some Marks and Spensers in London have them...

They are checkouts where you serve yourself. You scan everything (where the exploitation comes in) and pay via credit card or notes. I think they have a coin bit too.

Pretty good and a dream if you don't want to be stuck in those long queues for ages.
