i regularly post on the ps.com forums and there is always someone in the playstation 2 section requesting help because their ps2 has broken. then more people say how theirs has broken before.

has your ps2 broken before? have you had to buy a replacement? did you not bother and buy an Xbox or 'Cube? do you think it happens too much?

i do. they are gaining a noteriety for breaking whereas the nintendo Nes still works even now if you give it a bit of loving.

what are your thoughts

I ain't got a PS2, but my Cube has never broken in the year and a half I've had it. And neither has my X-box, but I got that in the Summer.

Built-in obsolesence. Comes with a lot of Japanse stuff- it's supposed to break down a lot so you'll pay the company to repair it. Something Nissan have always had faith in. :)

I've had my PS2 for 3 years now, not one problem.

I've had numerous problems with my PS2.

It has trouble playing the majority of DVDs I own, it now can't play games unless it's in the horizontal position, and it also occasionally fails to start up games properly. It's not really broken, as such, but has plenty of problems.

I've had precisely 0 problems with my Gamecube since I got it just over a year ago.

Maybe the time bomb forgot to go off in it

My x-box must be due to explode pretty soon.

And then Microsoft will sent a courier to pick it and will charge me for it... Hrmpphh
