I'm a student currently doing research on UK's game distribution system. As I do not actually live in UK, I would greatly appreciate if anyone can provide me some information regarding where you usually get your games. For example, name of departmental stores, speciality shops, discounters, online stores etc etc. Please let me know which area of UK you are in if you do help out in the survey.
Thanks a lot for your trouble and have a nice day.
Regards.
For pre-orders, I always buy from here. Just a cheap game off the street, I buy in a games shop in Carmathen.
I live in Pembroke... that's in Wales, just off the coast of England.
If I'm just bored and after a game I'll use either EB, Game, etc.. to browse around...
After I've decided... or if I know what I want...
I'll generaly stop off at a Shopping Site...
ShopSmart, EasyShop, Kelkoo, etc...
to find out the best prices... easyshop is especially good since it grabs prices realtime... so if a shop is having a sale it will show the sale price in its results...
Otherwise... since they also add postage and packing to the price, its a lot faster than trawling through the different sites...
Although theres always a couple of shops that dont show up... so I pop along to them and see how much they are selling for an pick up stuff there...
Now my usual ports of call are HMV or Virgin Megastore, or online. Places like Jungle.com, simplaygames or here are good.
I live in essex an leicester.
Special Reserve is my main Daddy
Gameplay.com is good
Game Over Uk.co.uk is quite good but the site is rubbish and you have to phone if you want a decent service!
I buy a game about every 2 months but have won my last two games on this site...luck?! What do you mean luck?!
Anyway...That is about it...I think
