Has anyone seen this new channel yet on Sky/Cable?

It's like VH1, but it's VH2!

But it's the first channel to actually play a pretty good selection of music, it's more of the indie/rock stuff from now and the past.

Basically, MTV have brought out another MYV2 but without most of the crap that is played. I actually managed to sit down for an hour or so and watch all the videos without not liking any of them...

Just a few artists so you get the idea...

Muse
Coldplay
Cardigans
RHCP
Starsailor
The Stone Roses

Have a look, it's pretty good!

I agree that most videos are pants but some are like little films with story lines and can last anything up to 10 minutes. Some are funny, some are sexy and some are just plain cool.

My missus has a big family and we often have various nephews and nieces staying over at the weekends and they usually stick a music channel on at some point in the evening and have a boogie. It's rather amusing to watch when the missus tries to join in ...

music videos are a good thing to put on at a pish-up/get together at home, when you and your mates are having various conversations or whatever. it's just eye-candy.

I can understand using it as background noise, but I can never get my head around someone sitting on their sofa, staring at the TV, which is just playing some music and displaying some accompanying video, which usually entails little more than people waving their hands at the camera.

Why?

Why Mr Anderson, why, why, why?

the best music channel is 'movies from the vault'. that might be a show rather than a channel. whatever channel that show is on then.

I do late at night to relax or have it on in the background when people are round.

I saw it the other day but was channel hopping so didn't stay long. The best channels for music I find are The Amp and Scuzz if you catch them at the right time. Kerrang should be closed down under Trading Standards and Q is a big disappointment. Don't even get started on MTV ...
