Hi Hmmm,
In support of your recent post...I quote....
"To ensure that you are receiving as fast a speed as possible, it is good practice to have as small a mount of wiring between the router and your BT Master socket as possible."
Typo here...:-)
"The BT master socket is usually the first socket when you enter a premises, it should have a BT logo and will usually also have a horizontal split across the middle which can be unscrewed. Underneath the bottom half of the socket you should find another telephone socket, this is known as the test socket, and this is the point at which BT take responsibility for your line. Connecting to the test socket should cut off any extension wiring allowing you to test your ADSL equipment without any interference from other equipment or wiring."
Oh no it doesn't....some of us don't live in 'new builds':-) On entering my premises, you are indeed faced with the BT master socket. It doesn't have a BT Logo, it doesn't have a horizontal split and neither does it have any additional sockets..test or otherwise. Straight forward socket with incoming line with one port! Now,.... what do I do to test my ADSL equipment?

Hi Warhunt,
I hadn't seen that page!
Would you guys like to check some spelling/grammar etc. before I post in the 'spelling and errors' thread! ;¬)
NB. For BRAS/IP Profile - small changes can now take up to 5 not 3 days...
EDIT: Perhaps I'll have to review some of my info as well - but I'm only an amateur!
Some info on the ALT would also be good ;¬)

Hi Warhunt,
If the "powers that be" like/reward my efforts that would be greatly appreciated :¬)

In fairness I did pass that on :( Lord knows whats happening with it.
I think we also posted identically there so... :S

I'm okay with that...
If Freeola would like to put up an official page showing similar information to my thread that's fine - they awarded me a GAD for my Search and ADSL pages!
BUT if they should decide to start a Freeola YouTube channel to post videos - like my failed Freeola video GAD efforts: here and here then I'll start getting upset ;¬)
Hours and hours capturing Freeola's video and posting it online...!!!
;¬)

Hate to be the one to break the news but our support pages have been worked on recently. A lot of new stuff in there including Optimising BB
Not sure if it contains exactly the same as Hmmm...'s but it has been up about a month now :S
Odd that you got 30 minutes there, did not realise they had even installed a 30 minutes option. Assume you must have got the 5 minute message before the 30 minute?
It's there to stop multiple searches from abusing the system. 5 searches in under a couple of minutes should be sufficient.
I'll re-check the rules to the search and get back to this.
I've just been updating my old Search thread, now that my effort isn't needed any more :¬) and after doing a dozen or so searches to see how things performed I was presented with:
You've reached the limit on the number of searches you can perform in this time period, please try again in 30 minutes.By the time I've waited 30 minutes I'll have forgotten what I was looking for! :¬P
I bet you only put that restriction in for me!
NB. The page title on the Search page is "Add new thread" at the moment.
[s]Hmmm...[/s] Okay I've seen it.
