A disc of compressed minced beef is known as a beefburger. Logical.



Why - when that same disc is placed between two pieces of bread - does it suddenly become a hamburger?

I believe it is something to do with such a sandwich being invented in hamburg. nothing to do with ham.

I'm sure we'll get someone coming along saying "Ah, but they put 1% ham in it" or something.

There's probably some explanation.
