"Well wouldya look at that!"

Gary Jules has gone and released another album, Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets. He hasn't released an album for aaaages! Now he knows his Mad World is doing well, suppose he might as well carry on!
Hopefully this one will do good, his other album, Greeting's From The Side wasn't that good.

Did many people even hear of Gary Jules before they watched Donnie Darko?! Ahhh..
Released 19th January if anyone is interested.

Because it was on their EP 'Falling Into Place' before it was released on their album. And Finch are hardly 'mainstream' at the moment. A good example of a blossoming band.

They'll be doing a dance remix of John Lennons 'Imagine' next.

I'm with Borat on this.

I actually feel quite saddened that such a gem of a song is now mainstream.

(And no, I'm not one of those "Ewwww mainsteam" people either...)

I don't have the answer for you, but something needs to be done about the boyband/girl group machine that constantly churns out a stream of endless soppy crap that could only possibly appeal to one group of people.

Actually having said that, I was disturbed to see women as old as my mum screaming like kids at Will Young on a programme recently. It sickened me. If artists were unseen, and music was only something available via radio, these talentless cretins would be cleaning my gutters for a living, rather than wasting airtime on telly, blowing kisses at the cameras to those who are stupid enough to lap it up.

Sex is Sex, Music is Music - let's keep the soft porn industry and music separate shall we, they are becoming mutually exclusive - just look at aguilera.

And who's going to judge that? Radiohead release a single, half of this board would love it, half would mock it.

The U.S Billboard is much better.

well, when real talented artists are having their lifes work of incredibly inspiring and thought provoking work, insulted by being beaten by two illiterate foreigners shouting 'touch my bum', it's a sad state of affairs.

The 'charts' as they are called should be recognised for what they are - a way of wringing money out of the weak minded, by selling sex to naive spotty teenagers and primary school kids.

They should have a separate chart for real talent.

A bit narrow-minded, isn't it? Fortune Faded by the Chilis got pretty high. Good tune. But the charts are mostly filled with crap, I will concur.

heh. why you lousy .....

really though, the charts sicken me, I'm convinced that if a tune gets high up in the charts these days, it must be crap.
