Well, none of us really know the answer, to most of us, we think (or hope) it will continue a long time into the future. But really, it cannot go on forever, can it?
Books, for instance, have been going on for years! Story’s have been told ever since the dawn of time! But other entertainment factors, such as film or video games for example are really new to the modern world. Although Film has been going for say a century now, and gaming past a decade, compared to books it is a new technology.
I think though, as it is a new form of entertainment, that us young ones will grow up still loving games and that will be taught on to our children, their children and their children’s children etc. So, hopefully gaming will not die for a long time yet.
But, I think the most devastating thing that can happen to the industry is company’s backing out of it. Maybe to join another type of gaming entertainment or a new one altogether. So, if we stop buying games, or maybe even if piracy gets to high, the big company’s may back out because of a lack of profit.
But, who’s to moan at this state of time? New company’s are joining the industry and more consoles then ever are coming on the market, boasting some really excellent pieces of hardware.
Heres hoping that gaming shall continue and that we enjoy our games whilst we can.
> Good luck to you, Your Honour, and good luck to the rest of ya!
Cheers mate! Much appriciated.
Either explain that ;) means that I'm joking...
Or say nothing at all, and just take it as a joke...
...Tough call... :D
I like playing games. It may not rock my world as much as listeneing to Eric Clapton on a sunny day in August, but it comes very close. I would love to see gaming continue for its entire life but the problem is, I will be 6ft under, and knocking on the pearly gates buy the time it does.
Gaming has come very far over the last few years...from 2D side scrollers to fully interactive 'masterpieces'. But because of the sudden break-through we have seen I think that gaming will slow down innovation-wise. We have seen games cost millions of dollars and with Shenmue it all paid off but because all this has been done I think it will take another step and another break-through to see something extra special, compared to the games of today.
Gaming will go on for a long time, no doubt, there will be more and more gaming jobs and developers than ever before which is good for the industry, and if gaming ever does lose all hope and go into complete bankrupcy, it won't be for a long time yet.
It was a tough one though, between Conker and Black & White.
Had to give it to my good ol' worms series though!
You won latly 'You Honour'?
I'm tired of never winning...
So I'm off....
See all of you chaps later...
