I've got parents evening tonight however I cannot see the point in having one when I am in optional education. It seems rather silly for my parents to have to go in and to be told that I am doing well enough, when it is eniterly my choice to be there and my parents have no real say in whether I go or not.

On another note a lad was kicked out of my sixth form today, not because he didnt anything particularly bad (like falling of fences), just because "He wasn't pulling his weight".

Load of crap huh.

Is it parent's evening season at the moment or is mine just a bit early (seems so)

On another note, some guy burnt his arm by smearing loads of Ralgex (like deep heat) on his arms in an "endurance test" today. What a spaz.

Well, that was a waste of a bloody hour.
I will give you a reconstruction...

Media

Bloke teacher: "Yeah kyle is doing propper bo, he done good making a lifesize dummy and flinging it around with much fake blood"

Sexy student female teacher: "Kyle gets me so hot, he'll get an A for sure"

Computing

Sweaty teacher: "Kyle is understanding programming. I speak in short sentences like my idol. His name is Steven Hawking. I rawk. Rah"

Fisherman teacher: "Y'argh, kyle is a fine fisherman, he'll be out to sea before ye know it!"

English

Agent Smith: "Kyle wrote two good essays, I gave them A's... I wear sunglasses in winter"

Funky teacher: "He is the only reason I bother teaching. Kyle's wit and sharp sense of humour liven up my lessons and give the kids a will to learn. He cannot use the term "Sweaty leering turkish men" though.

History

Postman Pat: "kyle is the best in the class, his essay on the Tory government of the 1850's rawked muchly"

Blad chap: "Hahha, I didnt turn up to parents evening because I am fat and bald, RAH"

What a night out.

Indeed it seems stupid but your parents still have a say if you do choose to go back apparently.

In cases such as school letters most will need to be signed by the parent (unless you are 18) At my sixth form monitoring cards have now been introduced to sixth formers as well. If a student is falling behind, playing truent or not meeting homework deadlines - they'll ring your parents.

So much for it is up to YOU and YOUR choice etc etc bla bla.

Never actually been to one. Suppose it's because my parents rarely bother to turn up either. :)

I always liked parents evenings. The teachers would say one thing to the pupils before hand and tell the parents the exact opposite. Was quite funny.
