After sticking with eBay for some time now, I thought I'd check out QXL and see if they had improved.

I came across this feature called 'QXL Max Bid'. Here's a link:

http://www.qxlmaxbid.com/

I can't believe the prices! £100 for a 4 grand Sony Plasma TV? Surely not!?

Anyhoo, have any of you guys participated in this? Do you still have to pay an administration fee even if you don't win? Is the chance of winning realistic? Can you vouch for what seems to be an incredible offer?

If only I had heard of this sooner. I could have got a Sont Ericsson P900 for £25!

So, what's your views on it (if any)?

Surely you'd have to sink as low as WATCHING the Shopping channel in the first place?

*shudders*

But think about it....

How many other people will have bid £99.99, £99.98, £99.97, £99.96 etc..etc...

And anyway, do you realise how much profit they are making?

For the TV;

£1000 x £6.99 = £6990

They're getting £6990 for a £4199(RRP)[They're probably getting it for trade prices] TV

Whoever thought of that is a real smart-árse.

Yes, but if you do happen to win, £100 (plus bid fees etc.) is a helluva lot less than £4000 isn't it?

It looks like you don't keep the £5 admin fee, regardless of winning or not. That's how they rake the cash in.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
