I might even explain WHY the Gamecube is as fast as the X-Box later... ;0)
BTW: The X-Box looks rather disapointing at the moment.
Anyway microsoft have a slight advantage of Hardware to use to produce more polygons but with more things on top of a games machine it probably won't.
However, a lot of people do believe that. And people who are buying an X-Box for the sole reason of it being the most powerful machine are being cheated.
The X-Box texture fill rate, I.E. how fast it can colour in things like faces, walls, and other surfaces, is actually slower than the PS2.
In other words the CPU hardly matters as much as the entire architechture, and how the programmers can push it to its limits!
I'll go with you on that one apoc.
