You might get more useful advice in the Web Design, PC... forum. First thing to do is go into your BIOS and see what the temperature of your CPU is: too high and it can make your computer unstable; some BIOSs will also shut down the PC at a certain level as a safety measure. Second thing to do is test your memory: http://www.memtest86.com/

Oh yeah, and try reseating everything in the motherboard. And tell us what sort of PSU you're using.

I've an Asus a7v8x.

One simple thing to check. Make sure the fan is on the correct way around. I didn't with mine, and it did exactly the same. Its a simple error to make, and easily overlooked.

I asked you if you had a blue screen when it crashed, or did it just freeze?

Does it boot into Windows anymore?

Hahahaha. Sorry.

When it locked up, did it bring up a blue screen at all?

Lol.

Only joking.

Check all your drivers are upto date and your CPU might be overheating.

Firstly take out your CPU and insert it into your rectum socket, don't worry, it usually fits. Secondly gently tap your hard drive with a hammer and chisel - Makes my computer faster and more stable.
