Character Map explanation for dummies V1.0

The character map can be found at:
Start->Programs->accessories->system tools->character map
(For windows XP, other versions will be similar)
You can copy and paste from there if you wish, or you'll notice that when you select a character, its 'keystroke' will appear in the bottom right.
This is generally something along the lines of ALT+0172
This means hold down the ALT key, then press 0 1 7 2 (in that order), and then release the ALT key. Note that these numbers refer to the numberpad keys on the right hand side of your keyboard, not the ones above your letters.
