Yes I too saw that occasionally, with the whole "for kids" licensing, the series did not realistically portray what would happen with a watch.

Did ye see the Simpsons the other week when Bart and Milhouse had the magic time watch. That was a classic.
Bernard was gay.
Was there not an ITV program to do with that. A little kid had this watch and he used to stop and start time when he wished.
Bernard's watch, that was it.
But being a little kid, he stopped it for silly things like catching his cat or moving a nail so his mum's car would not get a puncture.
