I use a combination of CSS and tables. I find they compliment eachother nicely.

Dear Rob... one day you'll understand! Tables - For TABULAR data display, as this is what they were designed for, CSS - For site structure and layout. CSS layouts have already proven themselves more successful in things such as reverse compatability and improvment of search engine rankings as well as the more obvious accessibility issues and the ability to repurpose your code on the fly for print, screen, and tv all buy only declaring an alt sheet!.

Not to mention CSS/xHTML layouts being more friendly for backend development!

As of MX, there is no longer additional code added apart from the Javascript code, but thats due to MM branding. Ive been using MX for over a year now and have never noticed any additional code being added to my work, if anything, It misses a lot of stuff out!

pnechat - penchant.

It's late. Tiredness is setting in and my motor skills are failing.

It always used to. It also used to have a pnechat for putting every damn thing in tables, too.

Haven't used it for a couple of years, so perhaps it's not so bad now.

I hear that Dreamweaver doesn't add that much extra code on top of the bare minimum required.

And indeed permenantly, should you be immoral enough to browse the right websites for a few minutes.

On the topic of the extra code Dreamweaver adds, I remember someone on my course last year was working on a project designed to analyse and remove the superfluous code such programs added. I'll have to try to find out what happened to that.
