Conversely, if the gravity was much higher, would we all be midgets?
Which would you prefer to be? A tall gangly giant, or a scary northern-esque midget?

Tall gangly giant. I am anyway so I'm used to it. Midgets give me the fear.
I'll take the midget every day of the week and twice on sunday.
Giant, or midget?
Would the very structure of muscle tissue have to rely on different methods to function? Would stronger gravity require more powerfully built creatures, or simply ones that can better evade the effects?
Would weaker gravity encourage more species to take to the air?
