Can anyone think of any objectives I may want for an access databse for a movie rental store?

It will store film details, member details and rental details.

Thanks

Cool thanks.

Nah mine is pretty basic, as I said just the three tables. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of other objectives.

Cheers anyway everyone.

Normalisation removes repeating groups of data, most times you put the data into third normal form and it tells you what should be in each of your tables.

I did a very similar thing is school and did a more advanced thing last year at uni with SQL but basically a similar idea to begin with so if you need more advice etc let us know.

That will make is easier on you.
Do you have to create the tables as well? Do you have to normalize the data?

I am only allowed a maximum of three tables.

1. Member details
2. Film details
3. Rental details

For films you'll need a unique film ID, the film title, certificate, the numner of copies the shop holds, cost of rental etc

You'll need another table for members details. Id, name, address, D.O.B etc

You'll need a transactions table to show the members and the films they have taken out, date it is due back and a boolean to show if it has been returned on time.

Might also need a stock table to show the films and the number of films in stock in the shop and if the show sells ex rentals how much they cost etc.

Just depends how you implement it.
