Everyone is fallible, and everyone makes horrific blunders from time to time. Whether it's a bad decision, a moment of panic or an inexplicable temporary bout of coordination deficit disorder, we all make gaming mistakes which serve to remind us that perhaps, just perhaps, we're not quite as good as we thought we were.

So, what's your worst (and therefore most amusing) mistake you've made in a computer game?

The worst one I can think off is when I chose 'Erase Game Data' on Mario Kart 64, thinking it would only delete my ghosts from my memory pack. Either that or "Seeing if it lets you walk off the edges" on Golden Axe 2....

It does, incidentally.

The Final Level Boss on Project X (Amiga), I thought I could do an "Independence Day" and Drive my CruxIIBattleCruiser into the center of the EnemyBossShip and Survive.

I was wrong and died!

I remember that price of Persia Mirror Trick where you have to put down your sword to get further in the game! That had me stuck for ages.

I was playing Mario Golf as I tend to do every Saturday at sometime or another and I was putting on the Second Hole of the Highlands Course...I was about 0.02m away from the pin and for some reason, I did a full power 'red power' put and blasted the ball about 50 yds from the pin...I just stared at the screen whilst my brother killed himself laughing....I couldn't believe it!

The Game

Now....where is that Conker and Banjo Topic...hmmmm

Some of mine have to do with Goldeneye:

Seeing how long it takes for a timed mine to blow up.

Seeing if you can blow up a mine by shooting it.

Seeing if you can rocket jump.

Seeing if I can shoot a grenade from a grenade launcher after shooting it directly up in the air.

But MOST of them... quite a lot in fact... have to do with Prince Of Persia... and anyone who has no idea what I am talking about shouldn't be on these forums... :)

Adventuring over the mine in Treasure Island Dizzy, I cant remember if it was the C64 or Amiga version...probably the later.

Anyway after some death defying jumps you can get on top of the mine at the far left of the game...you jump...

.... forever and ever and ever....

Then 58 screens diagonally down you end up on the Title screen, the one screen Island.

Suicide in the waters around the Island was the only choice left for Dizzy!
