it certainly is. For example, listening to Barber's adagio (choral) whilst leaning on my back against the wall, watching the people around me, with the wind making my hair jitter on the side of my face, with my sound-blocking earphones, watching the leafs spiral around eachother was definitely one of the most numbing feelings i've ever had. This certain moment was at school during the end minutes of lucnhtime.

You can't beat a good Gregorian Chant. Monks. Love 'em.

Heh, for some reason this kind of phase leaves such songs like U2's 'beautiful day' or 'stuck in a moment' quite appealing. I've got into their newer songs quite recently. I'm surprised at how many songs i knew that i DIDN'T know that these wrote it.

some of the finest music of this genre (Introspective/Heart Wrenching) you'll find is on the soundtrack for 'the truman show' starring Jim Carrey.

one of the most relaxing and powerful albums I've ever bought.

Barber's Adagio for Strings. Awesome piece of music. Right up there with (the slightly more upbeat) Excalibur, by Vangelis.

barber's adagio is the song. well, it's not a song, more of an orchestration. someone made a techno version of it, and Homeworld 1 features the choral version of it.

quite famous, it's just that nobody knows the name of it.
