Heh walking from school today i see 3 police cars gathered round the side of the roundabout and there is a big rubbish lorry on it's side. It must have been going to fast round the round about and tipped over.
Thats about the most exciting thing i have seen since i saw the harrier crash.

Excitement is not when you particularly want something to happen, that is anticipation. Excitement can be positive or negative, it basically means something that holds your interest intensely and gets your pulse racing as it were. I thing seeing something dramatic like a plane crash would get your pulse racing and hold your interest, you aren't going to say to yourself "Ooh that plane is going to plough into those mountains... I'm going to make my tea" would you.

I agree it is probably going to be upsetting and scary too though!

Sure it is, I suppose...

I mean in a metaphorical sense, the more important transition is between life and death and witnessing this has to stir up some sort of excitement, thus combined with grief or sadness it is unrecognised.

'Scary' is the term you should've used Robin.

Excitment is where you want something to happen...
